  2. Los Adjetivos Demostrativos • Point out persons, places or things relative to the position of the speaker – distance from the speaker. • They always agree in number and gender with the noun they modify. • Always come in front of the noun.

  3. Los adjetivos • We use these adjectives to describe things in relationship to the speaker. • In English we use: • This/these (Close to the speaker) • That / those (farther from the speaker) • Remember: (in Spanish) This and these have the T’s, That and those don’t

Los Pronombres Demostrativos • Demonstrative pronouns are formed the same as demonstrative adjectives, except they get an extra accent over the first e. • Demonstrative pronouns translate to this one, that one, or that one (over there) • Tengo este libro, pero prefiero ése. (I have this book, but I prefer that one) • Me gusta esta casa, pero me gusta más aquélla. (I like this house, but I really like that one- over there) • NOTE: There is never a noun after a demonstrative pronoun!!
