Objectives • Promote better understanding of fellow industry members and their capabilities • Make each manufacturer more competitive • Educate the general public about manufacturing in our region. • Provide manufacturers with a voice in local government and development. • Influence state legislation

  4. Objectives • Facilitate and promote the regional supply chain • Provide a business and social setting for like minded people • Provide members with a return on their investment in the association

  5. History • Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce - Industry Roundtable in 2007 • Roundtable added companies from Isabella County • Needed to take regional approach • October 19, 2010 – CMMA kick-off • Lots of Interest • Six plant Visits • Morbark, Aircraft, CME, Barry Controls, Garr Tool, MPATC

  6. History • Golf Outing – July, 2011 • September, 2011 - Barry Controls • Adopted By-laws • Elected B of D • October, 2011 – 1st B of D meeting • February 2012 • Adopted budget • Established Dues • Membership application process • Received first membership application & Dues • Thanks Garr Tool

  8. Arc Flash • 25 employees trained and certified • 13 from CME / MBT / CMEA • 12 from 5 area companies • Cost for sending 25 employees to Detroit for training - $20,125 • Total cost for CME on-site training - $5000 • Total savings from On-site Training (Collaborative Effort) - $14,530

Key Facts • Five county AOR • Clare, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, & Montcalm • Bi-monthly meetings • Summer vacation • Meetings and topics will rotate throughout membership base • Next meeting - May 10th - CMU – Industrial Engineering & Technical Center • Membership - $150 • Manufacturing members • Associate members

  11. Key Facts • Existing Gratiot Industry Roundtable will function as a steering committee • Allows new association to gel without getting bogged down with 501(c)(3) issues and the like • Eventually will cede governance as requested to officers designated by CMMA.

Around The Corner • Negotiate a CMMA rate for industrial hearing testing • Establish an electronic bulletin board to facilitate exchange of equipment, products, and services • Lean roundtable group • Reciprocal safety tours • Political feedback forum, with state and/or federal politicians • Golf Outing
