  3. 2011 Image – Key Goals • Simplification and cost control • Continue to simplify images for all platforms by eliminating unnecessary software, especially ones with royalty • Leverage Microsoft offerings (Live, WMP, other OS features) as much as possible • Offer Intra-platform differentiation through experiences • Add value through HD Video conferencing, OTP, Wi-Di, Beats on more platforms, Dolby Home Theater, 3D, etc. • More focus on music • Investigate gaming support on Pavilion and Envy platforms • Quickweb will continue to evolve as a key differentiation for HP platforms over 2011 • Move to Hyperspace technology completely by end of 2011 • End goal (~2012): Support 2 OS, and allow toggle through true virtualization • Enhance Experience • Key utilities (Recovery Manager, Connection Manager) are now being developed by HP • Continue to enhance OOBE • Start leveraging WebOS (being defined) – 2011 or 2012 • Investigate WebOS app support on Windows PCs (“Echelon”) HP Confidential

  5. 2c11 Executive Summary • Key Image optimizations • For mainstream notebooks, continue to implement key image optimizations (that were first implemented in 1.5c11) on all new platforms • For Mini, implement key optimizations for first time in 2c11 • New Touchpoints have been defined to support image optimization • Incorporate key releases from Microsoft • Windows SP1, IE 9 • Provide Wi-Di capabilities across majority of platforms (exact platforms being determined) • Key new partners is Broadcom • Continue to transition Quickweb to Hyperspace • Mini, dm1 get new Quickweb from Hyperspace in 2c11 • Other new platforms will not have any Quickweb in 2c11 • Music Mastermind (Zya app) will be on US SKUs, English only • Hardware enablement • OTP (One Time Password) is included in HP SimplePass for all FPR SKUs • Intel Identitiy Protection (OTP) for non-FPR SKUs • CyberlinkLabelPrint to support Lightscribe devices (implemented on new platforms in 1.5c11) • HP In-House Recovery Manager is implemented on ALL platforms – new platforms and Mini HP Confidential

  6. 2c11 Open Items • HP Coolsense • Currently, target is 3c11 – Trying to pull it into 2c11 • HP Navigator IE Add-On (would require also pre-installing maps and a Skyhook-like client)  • Ability to provide maps, POIs, and advertisements based on address in a web page • Business Model being developed, Discussions with vendors on-going • Intel Identity Protection (OTP) for non-FPR SKUs • Details being finalized • Dolby Home Theater replaces Dolby Advanced Audio • Decision by Dec/10 • Inclusion of Gaming/Steam client in high-end Pavilion • Unlikely, but TBD • Investigating Intel Turbo Boost monitor • Waiting for alpha code from Intel HP Confidential

  11. Risks to 2c11 POR • We have not yet seen a demo of wireless display (cloning) from Broadcom • Quickweb is new software deliverable and new UX • Verisign and Intel OTP is dependent on partner readiness • Mini System Team to verify in-house Recovery Manager works on Mini HP Confidential
