  1. PSAT 2012 Score Reports

  2. 9th graders who took the PSAT should be directed to the auditorium on Friday AFTER they have picked up their transcripts and report cards.  There will be tables set up for them to pick up their scores and handouts—Ashley Hall will present the information to all of those students at the same time in the auditorium. • 9th grade TAA teachers DO NOT need to pick up PSAT scores from the Counseling office.  • Ashley will send a list of students to send to the auditorium on Thursday.  ONLY those students should be sent! • Absent students can pick up scores in the Counseling office starting Monday.

  3. There is an issue with the rank on the transcripts for the 9th graders.  Please let them know that the county is aware of it, and it will be fixed.  It was unable to be corrected before I ran their transcripts. Thanks. Dana Dotson Registrar Etowah High School 770-926-4411 ext 237

  4. I just place report cards and transcripts into your mailbox.   Please have your students look over their report card and transcript very carefully.  If you need to change a grade for one of your students, please come to my office to do an edit.

  5. Understanding your PSAT score • Refer to your handout—Please read this document completely and carefully: there valuable information. • Your score report includes tons of useful information about your PSAT score. • My College QuickStart • Fantastic online resource—FREE with your access code printed on your score report (open your report—access code is in the blue box located at the bottom right side).

  6. Missed the PSAT? • You can still take and score the PSAT yourself. • Test booklets, answer keys, and scoring instructions can be picked up in the Counseling office. • Your score will not be official, but will still give you a good idea of how well you might have done on the PSAT.

  7. What do my scores mean? • Use the information available in your My College QuickStartaccount to help you understand your scores. • Didn’t do as well as you’d hoped? • NO WORRIES! Use the results to help figure out what areas need work so that you can study before you take the SAT. • Predict your performance on the SAT • Use the first link listed on your “Understanding your PSAT Score” handout for information about how to predict your SAT score

  8. What now? • 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT again next year • 11th graders will not retake the PSAT, but should begin preparing to take the SAT (if you have not already taken it) • If you are unhappy with your PSAT score, you may also want to consider taking the ACT as a college admissions test (instead of, or in addition to the PSAT). • Some people do better on the SAT, but some do better on the ACT.
