  23. Significant Safety Achievements- 10/14 • The chemical container/sample clean-out of the B62 (Kerr) lab areas continues. Another 500 containers were disposed in October. • Started set-up of Work Planning and Control (WPC) projects/activities for EETD. An implementation plan has been developed. • I have participated in review of the draft LBNL Electrical Safety Manual (ESM). • Several draft Activity Hazard Documents (AHD) were generated for upcoming research projects including the permeation device in 70-143 and chlorine gas use in 70-103. • The quarterly Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) hazardous waste inspections of EETD lab areas was completed. • The EETD Safety Committee meeting was held 10/2/14.

  24. Short Term Safety Outlook- 11/14 • Continue the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for EETD. The “Activity Manager” WPC system will go live effective 11/4/14. • Follow-up on electrical equipment issues identified from EETD survey and Electrical Equipment Inspection Program. • Continue work on implementation of an EETD-specific electrical safety program. This includes Qualified Electrical Workers and designated Electrical Safety Officer. • Continue to address issues identified by the fire marshal in EETD buildings. • Complete the flame resistant lab coat implementation. • Assist with the set-up for new lab areas 70-143, 70-291/293 and B33 JCESR. • Continue old chemical/sample clean-outs in 62-220, 246, 308, 310 and 62-105 closet.
