Why Careers Guidance is critical • We are urging governments, employers and individuals to invest in career guidance and the campaign is aiming to raise awareness about the benefits of what we do in: • Helping to maximise UK's talent for a strong economy. • Helping people to understand what's out there, both learning and work - now and in the future. • Helping people to aim high and achieve their potential. • Helping build communities where individuals understand how they can contribute. 5 5

Prioritising a strategic approach to lifelong careers guidance across the UK Private Practitioners Careers Educators Scotland - All Age service delivered by the government sponsored body Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Northern Ireland - Careers Service Northern Ireland part of the Civil Service England - Establishment of the National Careers Service and the changes in services for young people in education Wales – it is likely that Careers Wales will become a company owned by the Welsh Government Talent Management and work for redevelopment Careers Support in a range of settings 6 6
