  3. Required Daily Materials • BINDER REMINDER (planner)- All homework must be written in ink. • Communication tool • Behavior log • Important info and dates • 2 sharpened pencils • A red, blue, or green pen correcting pen • 2 blue or black pens

  4. Required Materials … • Lined paper • Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils • Pencil sharpener (small hand held) • Erasers • Highlighters • One 2 inch 3 ring binder or two 1 inch binders. Dividers- DOL, Lang. Arts Notes, Lang. Arts Homework, S.S. Notes, S.S. Homework, Math Notes, Math Homework, Weekly Quiz, and Daily Practice

  5. Homework • Math and Language Arts homework will be assigned daily. • Science and Social Studies homework will be assigned as needed. - Projects

  6. Homework … • All late assignments will be deducted 25 percentage points for the first day late. After that first day, late assignments will not be accepted. Unless, there is prior teacher approval • Absent work- Students responsibility • Check Binder Reminder each day for homework assignments.

  7. Grading • Assessments 25% • Homework 25% • Class work/Notes 25% • Projects 25% • Papers with “No Name” • Progress Reports-sent home every 3 weeks on Fridays starting 8/28/09. • Grading Scales90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79% C 60-69% D 0-59% F

Rules & Behavior Core Classroom Rules • Be prepared and remain on task at all times • Treat others as you would like to be treated • Be respectful of people and property The Discipline chart : • 1st Offense- Warning (Yellow) • 2nd Offense- 15 min Detention (Green) • 3rd Offense- 30 min Detention (Gold) • 4th Offense- Teacher Time Out (Blue) • 5th Offense- Office Referral (Pink) *Students may skip steps or be suspended from class immediately depending on severity of behavior. *Any detention not served on the assigned date will be doubled. Students who fail to serve two consecutive detentions will receive an office referral

  11. Cell Phone Policy • First Violation: • Phone confiscated from student. Student is allowed to pick up phone at the end of the instructional day. Documentation in student discipline file as a warning. • Second Violation: • Phone confiscated from student. Parent must pick up cell phone from the school office. Documentation in student discipline file. • Third Violation: • Phone confiscated from student. Parent must meet with site administrator to pick up phone. Documentation in student discipline file. • Fourth Violation: • Progressive discipline for defiance/violation of school rules according to site discipline plan.

  14. Tips for Parents Help students be successful by: • Praise and rewards • Checking Binder Reminder daily • Checking all Progress Reports
