  4. 2009 Sector Programmes • Sustainable Forest Management (2002 – 2009) • Improve production and marketing of timber through SFM, including promotion of certification • Improve down-stream processing of value-added products • 2. Aquaculture – Fish Farming (2006 – 2009) • Improve and increase fish-farming production by private enterprises • Increase and improve-fish food processing • Promoting the development of regional and export markets • 3. Promoting SME Competitiveness in the Tourism Sector (2002 – 2009) • Develop and operationalise an e-commerce platform and web-marketing for SME hotels (CAR region) • Provide training for management and staff of eco-lodges in services, food safety, product packaging and pricing (EAF/SAF) • 4. Optimal Energy Management (2007 – 2009) • Promote efficient energy management techniques in SMEs • Promote technology transfer and low-cost measures for SMEs in priority sectors; • 7. Maintenance in Public Works – Water Distribution (2009 – 2010) • Promotion of better infrastructure maintenance through the involvement of SMEs • Improvement of water distribution through reduction of water loss • 8. Competitive Enhancement Programme (2006 – 2009) • Enable SMEs to implement sound management practices • 9.
