Fremantle employs the apprentice on a 35 hour contract

Paying a salary of £3.64 per hour (national minimum wage for age group) – plus enhancements for weekend and bank holidays of £2.50 per hour (not allowed to work after 10.00pm until 18)

Care Training Solutions draws down the government funding to facilitate the qualification and undertakes all of the administration and organising

Care Training Solutions undertake the three elements in the programme

  • Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Certificate in Preparing to work in adult Social care level two
  • Functional Skills – Maths and English level one

12 – 18 months

with twice monthly release from workplace and regular visits by Care Training Solutions for the provision of underpinning knowledge

What happens at the end of the programme

If both parties are in agreement – Apprentice and Fremantle

The apprentice is given a contract at Carer level 1

This is then reviewed after six months with a view to advancement to Carer level 2
