Eyes

  • The first ‘E’ is for eyes. You should pick a target on the basketball rim or net and continue to look at that point throughout the entire shot. It is important that you do not take your eyes off this target to watch the ball as you shoot.

Elbow

Elbow

  • The second ‘E’ is for elbow. You should make sure that your elbow is at a 90o angle while you are shooting. The hand should be tilted backwards so that when you are looking at your wrist you can see wrinkles

Follow through

Follow Through

  • The final step of the BEEF principle is the follow through. This is an extremely important step and is the one that a lot of people forget to perform. You should push the ball upwards towards your target and finish in a way that mimics putting your hand into a cookie jar on a shelf above your head.
