  2. Survey—Poll Everywhere • If you have a cell phone that has free text messaging, please take it out at this time and send a text to the following ANONOMYOUS poll:

  4. DebateTuesday 8.26.14 • Debate Resolutions About You • Resolutions: A specific statement or question up for debate. Resolutions usually appear as statements of policy, fact or value. • Fall 2014 LD Debate Topic-- • RESOLVED: On balance, government restrictions on threatening speech are desirable. • Begin 30-Second Speeches • Find a partner • Interview that person • Write a 30-second speech that introduces that person to the class • Include your name • important info about that person • Smooth transitions between ideas

Then, write an example of a debate resolution. • Index Cards? • Turn in signed Syllabus to the tray • 30 second speeches—see Rubric • Begin taking notes on Current Events—CNN and NPR
