  2. The Current Situation…Today cats roam hotel grounds searching for food and leading to: • Guest discomfort at seeing hungry and/or diseased cats • Sporadic feeding of cats by guests, encouraging begging • Convenient environment for reproduction and propagation of diseases

  3. Drastic measures taken by hotel staff: Poisoning or removal to an animal shelter, thereby allowing rodents to move in! • Complete removal is never entirely possible and cats continue to multiply • It has been proven that a stable colony prevents new comers from moving in!

  4. The Solution: The Cat Café Program • A feeding station set up away from the restaurants, maintained daily by a staff member • Posters and pamphlets explaining the program available to guests • Collection boxes placed at reception desk and other designated areas to help support the program

The Benefits… • Hotel no longer has to deal with the nuisance of stray hungry cats on its property • Hotel image is enhanced through this socially and environmentally humane action • Low cost solution. Program can pay for itself. Extra funds can be used to expand efforts in the community • …….and of course…. a feline population no longer suffering but reminding guests of their well kept pets back home!!!
