  1. Honeywell International Inc. • China • State Grid Corporation of China • The goal of the pilot was to investigate the potential for AutoDR (using open standards) to provide peak-load reduction and to serve as a cost-effective alternative to constructing new power plants.

  2. USTDA provided funding to support Honeywell’s investment in this pilot. • Start Date: January 2012 / End Date: December 2012 • Project financed via grant to State Grid Corporation of China which covered 50% of the costs. Honeywell’s cost shared 50%.

  3. A reliable power supply is critical to China’s economic growth and the welfare of its populations. • Increase in China’s electricity demand now strains the electricity grid. • Honeywell’s Automated Demand Response (Auto DR) offers China an important alternative to fossil-fuel generation (reducing carbon emissions) in addressing China’s growing energy consumption dilemma. • Honeywell worked closely with TEDA, the SGCC Smart Grid department, and CEPRI (China Electric Power Research Institute) to design a pilot project to help achieve the following specific objectives: • Lower carbon emissions through reduced consumption • Incorporate renewable energy sources • Encourage energy efficiency • Review and understand the pilot project technology 2012 Project Report out Meeting /Executive Interview and Media Release

  4. ADR Project Participants TEDA Admin Building TEDA Library Building 泰达管委会大楼 霍尼韦尔苏州工厂 Vestas Wind Turbine (TJ) Kumho Tire (TJ) 霍尼韦尔天津工厂 HON Suzhou HSM Plant HON Tianjin Plant

  5. Recipient of the Economic Observer’s 2013 Low-Carbon Project Award • Implementation of China’s first Smart Grid Demand Response Project • More than one hundred well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises participate in this evaluation.
