  1. Preparation Guidelines: Fishbowl Socratic Seminar • You are going to add your prep notes to your ALREADY EXISITNG Google Doc that is titled, “Discussion Prep.” BACKUP YOUR THOUGHTS IN PAGES/NOTES/ETC. • For our final discussion on this book, you will need to spend some time prepare critical ideas to share in Friday’s fishbowl discussion. • Bullet points are fine, but make sure that they are adequate enough to guide and demonstrate your thinking • It will not be enough to simply talk; your ideas must add depth to the discussion! • Make sure that you come up with several ideas for each question so that way you will have something to share, even if somebody takes your first idea. • Remember: Thoughtful preparation now means effective participation (aka: success!) later.

  2. Chapters 13 & 14 • On page 153 Michael talks about his impressions for his sports stating "It is so important to have a basic working understanding of etiquette" How does this apply to him?  What in this statement helps him? • Michael has much support from different people throughout the chapter and the story. Who do you think has benefited Michael the most, and what have they done that makes such a difference in Michael’s life?

  3. Chapters 15 & 16 • If you could use ONE adjective (that shows HOTS) to describe this chapter, what would it be? Explain why you chose that adjective. • Leigh Ann shows her dedication and generosity towards Michael all of the time.  When an announcer said that his character would trouble him, Michael went from the possible top ten picks, to not being in the top 20.  If you were Michael how would you feel about Leigh Ann's actions?  Would you be happy to have her to stick up for you or would it be embarrassing? Explain.
