Computational Thinking: Coding through the cse3 curriculumBy Kevin Ngo Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Computational thinking is to be able to think logically and solve problems in a methodical way. It is also being able to convey your ideas to other peers in a clear manner. Visual Programming with Alice Alice is a freeware object-based programming educational programming language with an integrated development environment (IDE). Alice uses a drag and drop environment to create computer animations using 3D models. The software was developed first at University of Virginia, then Carnegie Mellon (from 1997), by a research group led by the late Randy Pausch. This programming educational language is designed to assist For these labs, we used valid Html to host our own website. We learned the standard html skeleton as well asparts of the DOM. Various Html tags were introduced and the client-side of web programming became apparent. Presentation of Information with MS PowerPoint Desktop Publishing with MS Word Dynamic Webpage Programming with JavaScript We learned to create charts to represent data. It is extremely helpful know how to create and use these kinds of presentational tools for our career. We learned how to create a webpage that has information gathered from another website. We learned the basics of javascript. This allowed us to create dynamic web pages and learn how to create simple scripts. It was a good introduction to web programming.
