  4. Audience Distance Learning Middle School Students 6-8th grade

  5. Learning Environment Students at home or in a library. Assuming they have a parent or guardian close by. Time of day will vary by student.

  6. Orientation From the previous lessons students have learned about the recreational strokes in swimming. Now they will learn key components to each of the four main competitive strokes.

  7. Application During this tutorial, students will able to view practice problems, before completing the real quiz. This will give them more practice.

  8. Evaluation At the end of this tutorial the students will take a short quiz to assess if they mastered the objectives. They must score an 80%. (8/10)

  9. Objectives Objective 1: After viewing this tutorial, students will be able to tell the main components of freestyle, by correctly answering 80% of the quiz questions. Objective 2: After viewing this tutorial, students will be able to tell the main components of backstroke, by correctly answering 80% of the quiz questions. Objective 3: After viewing this tutorial, students will be able to tell the main components of breaststroke, by correctly answering 80% of the quiz questions. Objective 4: After viewing this tutorial, students will be able to tell the main components of butterfly, by correctly answering 80% of the quiz questions.

  11. Competitive Swimming Strokes From previous lessons you have learned about the recreational strokes of swimming. Now you will learn the key components to each of the four competitive strokes. At the end of this tutorial you will take a short quiz to assess your knowledge. You must receive an 80% or higher to receive credit.
