  1. California Scholarship Federation Scholarship Through Service

  2. California Scholarship Federation (CSF) • emphasizes high standards of scholarship and community service for California high school students.

  3. Classes of Membership • Associate Member • Associate members shall be second semester FRESHMAN and first semester SOPHOMORES whose grades meet CSF requirements • OR first semesterFRESHMAN who are Honor Members of the California Junior Scholarship Federation.

  4. Classes of Membership • Semester Member • undergraduate students who have met the required eligibility standards during the preceding semester, as prescribed in their respective chapter Standing Rules, and • who have made proper application for membership.

  5. Classes of Membership • Life (sealbearer) Member • A student completing senior high school work in 5 or 6 semesters (not including grade 9) must earn CSF membership in at least 4 of the last 5 or 6 semesters • semester memberships must be earned with senior grades. (Grades earned in the final semester, just before graduation, may be used to meet this requirement.)

  6. Benefits of Membership • Award of the official CSF life membership pin. • Federation chapter seal on the diploma, and on the permanent academic record and on transcripts. • Eligibility for Scholarships and Awards

  7. Service to Community • Qualifying SEMESTER members must provide 10 hours community service in previous semester • Qualifying ASSOCIATE members must provide 5 hours community service in previous semester • ALL Service Must Benefit A Larger Community (no individual childcare)

  8. Service Projects Ideas • Collect items for homeless shelters • Help in a soup kitchen • Sponsor book drive for charitable group • Volunteer for youth service groups i.e. Safe Rides • Organize a food drive • Write letters/create care packages for service men • Help beautify our school • Plant Trees • Tutor younger children • Tutor the elderly in computer skills

  9. Homeless Shelter Opportunity • Contribute personal hygiene items and clothing to our 3rd Winter Voucher event. • Attend the Humor Helps Comedy Fundraiser this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Just $20. • Check out our Emergency Shelter's webpage to see what supplies we are looking for or to become a "Friend." • The Emergency Shelter opens December 1. Come tour the facility (Free!) on Wednesday, November 30.
