Searching for Employers

Use Company Name, Employer ID (MOSES assigned), Phone or Federal Employer Identification Number – FEIN. New Employers can be added by selecting “Add” – FEIN, telephone number and zip will be required.


General Information Tab

The basic information that should be gathered from an Employer when establishing a relationship


Employer Contacts Tab

Contacts should be verified and updated on an ongoing basis.

This information will carry over to the Job Order for an Employer.


EmployerEvents Tab

An Event is a workshop, job fair, focus group or other activity for Employers or Customers. MOSES documents current and past events.

When an Employer chooses to have one point of contact with the Agency or Career Center

Benefits designated on the Employer record will carry over to Job Orders

Services to Employers can be documented here. Refer to the desk aid for detailed information on each category. Services can be attached to Events for automatic inclusion when an Employer attends.

the Job Description, Referral Information or the Referral instructions


Skill Set Tab

Once selected, indicate months of experience and certifications if required. Can also search by Job Skills and Job Category.


Run Match

After a Job Order is entered and saved, a match of Customers in MOSES can be run. More Matches widens the search while Less Matches narrows the search.

  • Using the Events feature in MOSES to:

    • Create New Events

      • Schedule day and time

      • Add Job Seekers or Employers to roster

Used to create, edit, develop, and schedule Workshop / Event profiles (with relevant services associated for each). Allows Career Centers to activate and inactivate events. Enables Career Centers to designate a fee for event in this screen, as well as give workshop prerequisites and restrict access to their Career Center clients only.

TAARRNEG Project Background

  • Trade (TAA), Rapid Response, and National Emergency Grant programs were transferred from MA CommCorp to MA Division of Career Services (DCS) last year.

  • Since the transfer occurred, the programs have been supported through separate stand-alone systems.

  • While the business processes for these programs were integrated into DCS operations, the programs were not integrated into the MOSES system.

The lack of MOSES integration to date has caused serious disruptions to DCS staff, who have experienced process bottlenecks.

    • Service Delivery: Create a consistent customer experience

    • Program Administration:

      • Minimize paper processes

      • Eliminate duplicate data entry

      • Track full lifecycle of grants: Receipt of funding, award, contracts, and payments

    • US DOL: Support their vision of a system that interweaves the Trade, Rapid Response, and National Emergency Grant

Overall goal is to develop a system that supports an integrated Trade, Rapid Response and National Emergency Grant program model.

What is HITG?

  • In March of 2004, Governor Romney announced a new anti-outsourcing initiative.

  • This initiative uses $3 million from the Workforce Training Fund (WTF) to provide grants to companies that hire workers who have been unemployed for at least one year or, if unemployed for less than one year, permanently separated from their previous employment.
