  2. Sons of Norway is a life insurance company that offers fraternal programs to its stakeholders, you. The Foundation supports the fraternal programs through grants to our lodges & their communities and awards scholarships to our youth. How does the Foundation fit into Sons of Norway?

  3. Our passion is to showcase our unique Norwegian heritage to wider audiences

The Sons of Norway Foundation awards 25 college scholarships each year • There are six different categories of scholarships for different areas of study • 200 heritage camp scholarships are awarded from the Foundation’s Draxten Fund in our US Districts Piggy goes to Camp campaign • Ski For Light receives a scholarship from the Foundation for first time attendees

  8. 2013-2014 Grants awarded in D 6 1 Local Lodge Partnership Grant for $300 For Folk Dances of Norway 10 Helping Hands to Children Grants for $2,650 For Little Vikings, Adopt A School projects including building a Viking Village, instruction materials, book bags and a lodge day camp for youth. 4 General Heritage and Culture Grants for $2,550 For Scanfest Children’s Theatre, Norwegian Heritage Fairs, and book publishing 15 opportunities funded by the Sons of Norway Foundation $5,500

  10. Grants Norwegian Everyday Bunad Class “Thank you so much for the General Heritage and Culture Grant to Fjelldal Lodge. We had so much fun getting together and researching where our families came from and what bunads they would have worn.”

Humanitarian Fund Since 2004, Helping Hands to Member Grants have been awarded to Sons of Norway members who have lost their homes to floods, hurricanes, and tornados in Iowa, Florida, New Jersey, Colorado, Calgary, Alberta, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. In 2012 members on the East Coast received grants due to Hurricane Sandy. In 2013 members in Colorado and Calgary, Alberta received grants due to severe flash flooding. Your donations of $250 or more to this fund entitle you to receive a King Harald V medallion.

  12. Our passion is to provide humanitarian support to Sons of Norway members who are victims of natural disasters.$521,000 has been awarded since 1997.
