What is EBN? • EBN is a 30-year old network of 250 BICs and other organisations that support the development of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs • EBN is also a community of professionals whose day-to-day work helps these businesses to grow in the most effective, efficient and sustainable way

Landing Services • extensions of services normally provided by a BIC, personalized according to SME needs and packaged and priced on a case by case basis; • additional services chosen by the visiting company to be priced according to local conditions; • information on potential for public or private funding. • At the end, companies will be asked to assess the services provided by the receiving BIC.

Success story – CorkBICIreland • Working with their BIC colleagues near Nice, France – ‘co-incubation’ of Radisens(Medical) • CorkBICpresented Radisens Diagnostics at the Sophia Business Angels (SBA) Venture Academy in Sophia Antipolis • Result! Equity investment by SBA • Radisenswww.radisens.com develops disruptive point-of-care diagnostic platforms and multiplexed test panels, which diagnose and monitor patients for multiple chronic and acute care conditions • SBA angel, based in Cambridge, UK opened the door to the innovations arm of the UK National Health Service (NHS) • Contract for Radisens to integrate a creatinine test for long-term disease management • Subsequently, Radisens raised €1.1m investment and also won €1m contract with the European Space Agency

TRANSITION: Transnational network for social innovation incubation Six countries; 300 social innovation; Transition will focus on scaling around 300 social innovation within the 6 countries and between the countries It will identify the most effective methodologies and publish best practice 30 months duration from 1 Sept 2013 Project Examples www.transitionproject.eu ACE: • Accelerating Cross-border Engagement (ACE) • Accelerating the early engagement of highly innovative ICT start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs in cross border cooperation and venturing • 15 Partners from 12 European countries • The ACE programme will focus on building the internationalisation capacity of start-ups at the early stages of their development • 24 months duration 1 Sept 2013 – 30 Aug 2015) www.europeanace.eu
