  3. About the Profile e-portfolio system … • The Profile system provides students with a personal, secure electronic portfolio, in which they can interact with web-forms to document their learning activities. • The e-portfolio is ‘owned’ by the student and requires him/her to obtain a login to: • Access the portfolio. • Interact with it by filling in forms and uploading evidence. • Invite in tutors to view, comment and sign off work (as appropriate). • You as a tutor also need a username and password

  4. Your username • Your username for Profile will be your email address. • Make sure that the person at your university responsible for setting up your Profile account has your correct email details. • If you are unsure who that person is, email profile@uwe.ac.uk with details of your course.

  5. Your password • Your password will be sent to your email account once you have activated your Profile account. • The rest of this tutorial explains how to obtain a password and access your students’ e-portfolios. • Please note that the password is in the form of two words separated by a hyphen (-). Make sure you include the hyphen when entering your account. • An example of a password is happy-ear

  6. Activating your Profile account • When your Administrator enters your email address in the Profile database, you will receive an automated email giving you instructions on how to activate your account and obtain a password. • Because the email has been generated automatically, it may be labelled as [Spam] or look like spam but do not delete this email. • Follow the instructions given in the email. An example given in next slide.

  7. New User email To: Pat Jones • The email you receive will look something like this. Follow the instructions. • Click on the link on the email to go to the Profile website: www.profile.ac.uk Dear Pat, ACADEMIC
