  9. Diagnosis and Identification • Basic stool sample • How to identify the parasite as T. saginata • Stain the proglottid’s uterus with India ink, which results in the branches becoming visible • Twelve or more branches on each side will show it is T. saginata

  11. Prevention and Control • Very simple • Fully cook beef • Freezing beef below 23°F • Avoid uncooked fruits and vegetables while in foreign countries
