  5. TexasWISE Workshop • Texas Workshop on Integrated System Exploration (texaswise.tamu.edu) • Free. Co-Sponsors (CAS/SSC Chapter, IBM, UT Austin, Texas A&M, UT Dallas, RICE, SMU). • Speakers: • “Stochastic Computing: A Low Cost Approach to Some High Value Applications, “ by Dr. John P. Hayes • “Cells, Circuits and Cybernetics,” by Dr. Louis K. Scheffer • “The Innovation is in the Mind – The Converging Trajectories of IT, Neuro and Nano,” by Dr. Jan M. Rabaey • Panel Session: “Top Industrial Problems in Integrated System Design: How can Universities Help” (Dr. Charles J. Alpert, Dr. Jacob Abraham, Mr. Ken Hansen, Dr. Richard Muyshondt, Dr. Kevin Nowka, Dr. Mahesh Sharma • One hour poser session (30 student posters, two best poster awards), 100 attendees. www.ieee-ceda.org 5

  7. Chapter Plans • TexasWISE 2015 • One more workshop (Consultant workshop and co-sponsored by many other chapters) and one seminar have been planned for this year so far. • Happy hour event at the end of 2014. • Election in November.
