Are the assumptions in agreement or do some selections profess different points of view? • Consider the following: • How human beings can be reduced to statistics during war. • How suffering can dehumanize people. • How people’s response to war and suffering can be courageous. • How civilization must constantly struggle against impulses toward destruction, hatred, and violence.

  2. 2. Compare and contrast each “Political Points of View” before each excerpt. • 5 differences • 5 similarities • Each point made must have an example from the reading to back it up. 3. Individually, write a letter to one of the people mentioned in the reading excerpts. Inform them of what happened after each disaster, and how the world has change today (for better or for worse; your call).
