  8. Cultural Note: • When people go out to eat or to the movies, the person inviting pays for his/her friends. Sometimes, when acquaintances are on a bus or other means of transportation,each struggles to pay for the other. This also happens when friends are having snacks/lunch in cafeterias or restaurants.

  9. Expressions Use: • Heto na ang bayad. • Tama ka na. • Ako ang magbabayad. • Ako naman ngayon. • Ako ang taya.

  10. Other Expressions Use: • Hindi, ako ang magbabayad. • Tama ka na. • Ako na ang taya. • O, sige, basta sa susunod ako naman.

  11. Dialog Situations: • 1. You and your partner are in a jeepney/bus. Pay the fare. Your partner tries to stop you, insisting that he pays.

  12. 2. You and some friends are in the cafeteria. You’re the first one to get to the cashier.

  13. 3. You and some friends are at the movie house. A friend who is before you in line is trying to buy a ticket for you.
