St. Peter Athletic Seasons • Volleyball August 16 – October 30 • Must submit fee by August 17 • Cross Country TBA • Must submit fee(s) by August 23 • Cheer TBA-end of February • Must submit fee by August 25 • Basketball November 1- February 27 • Must submit fee by Sept 19 • Track March 19-first week of May • Must submit fee(s) by March 5

  4. Parent Expectations • pay $10 participation fee (per sport) • Uniform deposit ($45 VB, $90 BB, $150 Cheer, $45 Track) • work 4 shifts each for BB and VB (2-$50 deposit checks) or pay $100 opt out fee • participate in gym cleaning at the end of the season • send note to Mrs. Bezler if they need to leave After School Care to attend practice • e-mail me pictures taken during games & tournaments to be used for sports banquets & yearbook (athleticdirector@stpeterjc.org) • display Christian sportsmanship at all times

Uniform Deposits(applies to basketball and volleyball) • Uniform must be washed & air dried. • Uniform must be returned in the condition it was given at the beginning of the season. • Deposit will be returned once uniform is returned in a bag marked with student’s name. Check will be deposited 2 weeks after the completion of the season if not returned.

  6. Athlete’s Expectations • Keep your grades up. • Show up on time for games and practices with the proper equipment-knee pads, athletic attire(shirt, shorts, & shoes). • Show sportsmanship and respect at all times to teammates, coaches, referees, & opponents.

  7. Cross Country • Grades 4-8 • Coach is Julie Miller • Long distance running • Practices held at Binder • Most conditioning on own • Practice are on Sunday and 1 other evening for 1 hour and 15 minutes • Compete in approximately 5 meets

  8. Cheer • Open to all 7th and 8th grade students • Cheerleaders cheer at varsity and junior varsity boys and girls basketball games. The coach will determine what games they will cheer at. The Helias homecoming parade and Jefferson City Christmas parade are two other events the cheer team usually participates in. • No prior experience is required • Coach is needed

  9. 5th Grade Head Coach Christy Gladbach Practices starting on August 16 are Tues & Fri 3:15-4:45 pm 6th Grade Head Coach Paul Dupruis Practices starting on Aug 16th are Tues 4:45-6:15 Thurs 3:15-4:45 SP Tournament is October 9 Catholic Bowl is October 22-29 at St. Peter and Helias. Games are Saturday morning with exception of first game on Tuesday, Sept 6.

Junior Varsity & Varsity • Each team will be given a 2 hour time slot on Monday & Wednesday depending on what team they are placed on starting August 22. • All PAL games are scheduled for Thursday evenings beginning Sept. 1 • Varsity SP Tournament is October 2 • Catholic Bowl is October 22-30 at St. Peter and Helias

Volleyball Team Placement • 5th & 6th grade are sorted to make teams as even as possible • 7th & 8th grade teams are sorted by ability • We are looking for position players. • The first night is warm up. • Scores will be recorded for Wednesday & Thursday. • NO PLAYERS ARE CUT! • Players are reevaluated during the season and may be moved to a different team • Teams will be announced on Friday at 3:05 and on website by Saturday, Aug 20

  12. Volleyball Team Placement August 16-18 • 6:00-7:00: 7th Grade • 7:00-8:00: 8th Grade • Teams will be announced on Friday at 3:05 and on website by Saturday, Aug 20

  14. 5th & 6th Grades • Practices - 1.5 hour twice a week starting Nov. 1 • Practice times will be available on October 15 • Games are Saturday morning for 5th grade and 6th grade girls • Games for 6th grade boys are held on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday • Tournament is scheduled for ??

  15. Junior Varsity & Varsity • Starting Nov 1, each team will practice 4 hours a week as long as gym space is available. Dates and times will be available on Oct 15 on website • All PAL games are scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday evenings starting Dec 1 • Varsity Tournament: TBD

Track & Field Events 5th & 6th Grade: 100m Dash, 200m Dash 400m Run, 800m Run 1600m Run 4 x 100m Relay 4 x 200m Relay Long Jump, High Jump Discus (weight 1K), Ball Throw Each participant can only participate in three events in each meet. Only three participants from each school per event. 7th & 8th Grade: 75m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles 100m Dash, 200m Dash 4 x 200 Relay, 4 x 100 Relay, 4 x 400 Relay 1600m Run, 400m Run, 800m Run Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump Discus (weight 1K); Shot Put (weight 4K boys; 6lbs girls) Each participant can only participate in four events in each meet. Only three participants from each school per event.

  20. Track • Practices: TBD • Students will compete in 3-5 track meets scheduled for weeknights • Season begins March 14th and ends the first week in May

Information to turn in Today • Handbook Form for each family • Player release form for each Athlete • Signed Rules by Parent & Athlete • Player Info for each Athlete • $10 participation fee for each sport • uniform deposit ($45 for VB, $90 for BB, $150 for Cheer, $45 for Track) • Work Shift Deposit or Payment • Athlete’s physical (due Sept. 1 for Fall sports)

Major Dates to Remember • August 17 @ 8pm: VB Coaches Meeting in MLG • September 14 @ 3:15pm: VB & CC Pictures in MLG • September 20 @ 8pm: BB Coaches Mtg in SFR • October 22-30: VB Catholic Bowl hosted by SP • December 7 @ 3:10pm: BB & Cheer Pictures in MLG • February 18-26: BB Catholic Bowl • April 18 @ 3:15pm: Track & Little Olympics Pictures in MLG • May 8: Sports Banquet for Grades 7 & 8 in SPSC • May 9: Sports Banquet for Grades 4-6 in SPSC

  23. FYI • Enter Door near Prayer Garden for ALL practices for ALL sports in MLG (Practice Door) • Enter Glass Doors by playground for ALL games in MLG • Coaches – attend coaches meeting & Virtus training provided by Diocese • Team Parents NEEDED for each team
