Foglie rigide, cilindriche, erette pungenti simile ai fusti avvolte da guaine ferruginee e lucide Infiorescenza: posta nella parte alta del fusto, tepali scurioso erbacei verdastri a glomerulo spessa dai 2 ai 4 mm. sovrastante una brattea acuta simile allo scapo
