  1. Project C.U.R.E By: Cassandra S. Girl Scout Troop 2494

  2. Who am I? • My name is Cassandra. • I am a Girl Scout working on my Silver Award with Project CURE. A Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn as a Cadette Girl Scout (6th-8th grade). • I did a Project CURE activity with my Girl Scout troop this spring. I felt so good knowing that I helped other kids around the world, that I wanted to do the same activity again but on a larger level. • Part of my silver award is recruiting Girl Scouts and troops to help me collect supplies for a Girl Scout community service event on November 16th at Children’s Hospital.

  3. Who is Project C.U.R.E? • An organization that sends donated medical supplies and equipment to third world countries. • They have delivered medical relief to more than 130 countries since 1987 http://youtu.be/XGiONioWQiw

  4. Third world countries do not have enough medical supplies or adequate health facilities to care for all people. Project C.U.R.E works to bring more supplies and updated equipment to these underdeveloped countries. 3rd world countries U.S.A.

  5. For many families in 3rd world countries, if a child gets injured or sick, the family must travel by foot, bicycle or bus for many miles to get help. Sometimes they may not get the help they need right away. Simple supplies that we find in our medicine chests at home are not available to these families. Wouldn’t it be nice if these families can have basic supplies in their home to help children who are sick or injured?

  6. What is Kits for Kids? Kits for Kids program provides parents in developing countries with many things they need to help treat their child’s symptoms and illnesses. This small, but powerful package contains “medicine chest” items such as soap, hand sanitizer, pain reliever, adhesive bandages, bug bite lotion, etc. • Why should you support this program? • The Girl Scout promise says we should help people at all times. We as Girl Scouts can help kids in other countries by collecting needed medical supplies.

  7. Here is the list of supplies for Kits for Kids.

  8. How can you get involved? Complete the online “request Kit form” at projectcure.org/programs/kidskits Gather the Kits for Kids supplies Dollar stores have most of these supplies therefore making it cost effective to help support the activity Drop off or ship your filled kits to one of Project C.U.R.E’s warehouses Pay $5 shipping per kit I have created a manual with ideas on different ways to collect medical supplies.
