  3. What is ritual? The Theological Dictionary suggests two meanings: A book or collection of rites (other than the Eucharist or Liturgy of the Hours) A social, symbolic process which has the potential for communicating, creating, …and even transforming meaning.

  4. Organizational rituals • Rituals express a society’s corporate identity • Rituals can also create and transform the corporate identity

  5. Organizational rituals • Inauguration of President • Dedication of new building • Commissioning new leaders

  6. Examples of “Building blocks” for ritual Scripture Music Intercessory prayers or other litany Our Father Gesture or symbolic action Symbol

  7. Always to remember… We are signs of God’s compassionate love when we pray with and for another
