  4. Key Words? Abortion: • The intentional medical removal of the contents of the uterus by various methods. Miscarriage: • The natural way of losing a baby Conception • The period of fertilization (when the eggs meets the sperm)

  5. History of Abortion? • History (hundreds/thousands of years ago) • Egypt: crocodile dung and paste (honey/salt) • China: drank quicksilver (mercury) or swallowed 14 live tadpoles 3 days after they missed a menstrual flow • India: climbed up and down coconut palms to harm their stomachs

Pro-Life (anti-abortion) Position: • Fertilized egg is an individual human life from the moment of conception • Harmless and innocent, valuable. • Killing it is murder • Right to life • If harmless human life is permitted to be killed, then what is stopping us from taking the lives of old, deformed, or mentally ill? • *Abortion should not be a birth control measure
