  2. Call 5 Launch @ CloudAsia 2012 on 15 May 2012 Calls for Cloud Computing Proposals IDA is launching the fifth Call for Cloud Computing Proposals today. In Call 5, we are also supporting Big Data projects…

Objectives • To support innovative projects that will help achieve the following strategic objectives • Enable infocomm infrastructure development for iN2015 vertical clusters (such as digital media, life sciences, manufacturing, financial services, retail & tourism, & education) as well as specific sectors like transportation and construction. • Support specific lighthouse projects which would illustrate & promote use of infrastructure in iN2015 verticals. • Establish Singapore as a Shared Services Hub. • Support infocomm capability development. • To promote adoption of Cloud Computing in Singapore

Eligibility • Eligible applicants are Singapore-registered companies • Supportable types of projects include trials, proof-of-concepts & testbedding • Following types of projects will NOT be supported • Commercial deployments • Subsidising existing hosting of cloud applications • Already receiving grant from another government agency or under funding consideration

  6. Specific Areas of Interest • Projects that are trials that can showcase cloud adoption • Projects from start‐ups that meet objectives of call • * not limited to these areas & will consider others, if they meet strategic objectives

  7. Funding Support • Supported in terms of • Utilized compute & storage resources based on the approved duration & quantum of cloud services (compute core-hours & storage GB-months) • Funding will not be in form of cash • 50% co-payment support will be given to selected industry projects except Government & R&D projects

  9. Support Level Support period is up to 6 months

Other Resources & Support • Access to IPs from I2R & ETPL • Briefing on available IPs (http://www.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/Technologies.html) for evaluation • Interested parties need to apply directly to ETPL to evaluate a specific IP • Big Data Track • Revolution Analytics • Will provide both expertise & advanced software to enable participants to work on & solve Big Data problems • Bamboo Platform • HP Labs will provide a guided & visual approach to Big Data processing without a steep learning curve in using Hadoop

Proposal Application Process • All proposals must be submitted using application form which can be downloaded from IDA website www.ida.gov.sg • Only one copy of this application (together with any relevant supporting documents) needs to be submitted.
