Triangle Tube boilers use outside air for combustion, eliminating this waste. Outdoor Reset = Adjusts the temperature of the system based on the outside temperature. As the outdoor temperature increases, the boiler system temperature decreases, improving efficiency. Fuel Cost Evaluation To measure the impact of changing to a new Natural Gas boiler from another fuel in the old boiler. Please skip to the other side if your new boiler will use the same fuel as the existing boiler. Fuel Heat Content Ratio: Natural Gas Measures the relative heat content of a unit of fuel. Example: Old Fuel is Oil and New Fuel is Natural Gas measured in Therms. The Fuel Heat Content Ratio is 1.39 Fuel Cost Ratio: Measures the relative cost of a unit of fuel. Fuel Cost Ratio = Cost per unit of New Fuel / Cost per unit of Old Fuel. This reduction is due to standby losses, chimney drafting losses, standing pilot losses, use of indoor combustion air, lack of outdoor reset, and other factors.
