  20. Significant Safety Achievements- 6/14 • The Division Director Safety Walkthrough of Buildings 62 and 70 was completed. A summary report was prepared. • The City of Berkeley conducted a hazardous waste generator inspection of the Building 70 lab areas. • A FLEXLAB roof access procedure was completed. Restricted access signs were posted. • The Chemical Management System (CMS) self-assessment project has started. Several labs areas are being checked and a survey was sent out to PI’s. • EETD Safety Alerts were issued for: • Nitric Acid waste treatment procedures • Use of dust mask respirators • A number of old gas cylinders were removed from the Building 70 cage. An old chemical clean-out was completed in 70-226.

  21. Short Term Safety Outlook- 6/14 • Continue to assist with start-up of the new FLEXLAB buildings. • Complete the Chemical Management System (CMS) self-assessment project. • Complete participation in the inter-divisional “off-site safety” self-assessment project. • Complete the flame retardant lab coat corrective action. • Begin the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for EETD. • Address the European electrical appliance approval issue in the B31 test chamber. • Develop FLEXLAB user safety orientation training. • Develop area safety lead orientation training. • Conduct a quarterly SAA inspection of EETD lab areas.
