  1. History Of Communication

  2. Discovery of Fire 500 000 BC • Fire is the combustion or burning, in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke.

  3. Discovery of Fire 500 000 BC • Who made fire? • Back in the day Ape men first discovered fire from lightning dropping down on Earth and creating them. Human discovered fire by the natural state of experimenting and scientific research. What happens if I rub this piece of wood against this piece of wood? By rubbing the piece of wood against another piece of wood human discovered that the process creates fire.

  4. Discovery of Fire 500 000 BC • Types of technology developed before the discovery of fire. • There was no technology developed before the discovery of fire.

  5. The First Communication Tower. • Radio masts and towers are, typically, tall structures designed to support antennas for telecommunications and broadcasting, including television. They are among the tallest man-made structures.

  6. The First Communication Tower. • In the 1790s, the first fixed semaphore systems emerged in Europe; however it was not until the 1830s that electrical telecommunication systems started to appear. This article details the history of telecommunication and the individuals who helped make telecommunication systems what they are today. The history of telecommunication is an important part of the larger history of communication.

  7. The First Communication Tower. • The history of telecommunication began with the use of smoke signals and drums in Africa, the Americas and parts of Asia

  8. The First Electric Generator. • In electricity generation, an electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. A generator forces electric current to flow through an external circuit. The source of mechanical energy may be a reciprocating or turbine steam engine, water falling through a turbine or waterwheel, an internal combustion engine, a wind turbine, a hand crank, compressed air, or any other source of mechanical energy.

  9. The First Electric Generator. • The years of 1831–1832, Michael Faraday discovered the operating principle of electromagnetic generators. The principle, later called Faraday's law, is that an electromotive force is generated in an electrical conductor which encircles a varying magnetic flux.

  10. The First Electric Generator. • Before the connection between magnetism and electricity was discovered, electrostatic generators were used. They operated on electrostatic principles. Such generators generated very high voltage and low current.

  11. The First Walkie Talkie. • A compact easily transportable battery-operated radio transmitting and receiving set. Used to contact other people wirelessly.

  12. The First Walkie Talkie. • Canadian, Al Gross invented the walkie-talkie in 1938. In 1948, he pioneered Citizens' Band (CB) radio. In 1949, the very first telephone pager device was patented by Al Gross and used by the Jewish Hospital in New York starting in 1950. These were not consumer units. Al Gross' device did not win FCC approval until 1958.

  13. The First Walkie Talkie. • Before the Invention of walklie talkie people used smoke signals and telephones to contact each other when needed.

  14. The Development Of The Internet. • Internet is a computer network consisting of a worldwide network of computer networks that use the TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission and exchange.

  15. The Development Of The Internet. • The US Department of Defense awarded contracts as early as the 1960s for packet network systems, including the development of the ARPANET (which would become the first network to use the Internet Protocol.)

  16. The Development Of The Internet. • Before the invention of the internet people would manually type and send letters via the mail.
