  3. EMBRACED If you hugged someone, you embraced that person. Angela embraced her grandmother as soon as she walked through the door.

  4. BRITTLE Things that are brittle are so stiff and hard that they break easily. A glass vase can be easily broken because it is brittle.

  5. DELIGHTED When you are very happy about something, you are delighted. Sofia was delighted when she got an A on her test.

  6. CUNNING Someone who is cunning uses smart and tricky ways to get what he or she wants. The cunning fox crept into the chicken house after dark.

  7. DISGUISED If you are disguised, you are wearing something that keeps people from knowing who you are. Maya was disguised by a mask when she came to the costume party.

  8. RACKET If you make a lot of noise, you are making a racket. Craig made an awful racket that woke the sleeping baby.

  9. CHARMING If you are charming, you have a way of pleasing people with what you say and how you act. Enrique charmed his neighbors by taking out their trash.

  10. INGENIOUS If you do something clever or imaginative, you are ingenious. Caroline proved to be ingenious when she built a house entirely made of cards.

  11. OUTWIT If you trick someone by doing something clever you outsmart, or outwit, them. Maria won the chess game by outwitting Trevor.
