  3. Life facts Christopher Jonathan James Nolan (born 30 July 1970), is a British/American film director, screenwriter and producer. Nolan had finished English literature at University College London. In 1997, Nolan married Emma Thomas, his college girlfriend and long-time film producer. They have four children. He has a younger brother, Jonathan, with whom he often collaborates on film scripts.

  4. ‘The Following’ It was first film directed by Christopher Nolan. This British movie from 1998 , which tells the story of a young man who follows strangers around the streets of London and is drawn into a criminal underworld. Leading actor was Jeremy Theobald. David Thompson of Sight and Sound commented that "Nolan shows a natural talent for a fluent handheld aesthetic”.

  5. ‘Memento’ His second film, after which he was spotted by a broader audience, was Memento. It premiered on September 5, 2000, at the Venice International Film Festival. It was presented as two different sequences of scenes: a series in black-and-white that are shown chronologically, and a series of color sequences shown in reverse order. The two sequences "meet" at the end of the film, producing one common story. It stars Guy Pearce and Carrie-Anne Moss. The critics especially praised its unique, nonlinear narrative structure and themes of memory, perception, grief, self-deception and revange.

  10. Batman Trilogy Christopher Nolan is best known for his Batman trilogy, which contains films from 2005, 2008, 2012 (premiere in July). Title character is played by Christian Bale. The followingactorsare, for an example: Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, MaggieGyllenhaal, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Katie Holmes, Heath Ledger, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman and Ken Watanabe. Music for the whole trilogy was composed by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. Cinematography is made by Wally Pfister and scripts are written by both Nolan brothers – Christopher and Jonathan, or by David S. Goyer. Trilogy gets best reviews and awards around the world.

Obsessed with creating the best stage illusion, they engage in competitive one-upmanship with tragic results. The film features Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and David Bowie. It also stars Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson. The film had received positive reviews and strong box office results, and obtained Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction.

The film features an international ensemble cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Michael Caine. DiCaprio plays a specialized corporate spy and thief whose work consists of secretly extracting valuable commercial information from the unconscious minds of his targets while they dream. Wanted for murder, Cobb is offered a chance to regain his old life as payment for a task considered to be impossible: the implantation of an original idea into a target's subconscious. Inception has received wide critical acclaim and numerous critics have praised its originality, cast, score, and visual effects. It won Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Cinematography, and was also nominated for four more: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Art Direction.
