TDSB: 1997 Every Secondary Student Survey Author • Maisy Cheng, Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Purpose • Examine the experiences of secondary students both inside and outside the school Methodology • Survey performed across all secondary schools in the former City of Toronto • Every student from grade 9 to OAC was asked to fill out a questionnaire • Data aggregated by gender, socio-economic status, racial characteristics, and cultural characteristics Project Diploma (TDSB Survey_Introduction)

  2. How should we use these results? • ~60% of Portuguese-Canadians live in Toronto • The TDSB accounts for ~70% of high school students in Toronto Use results as a proxy for the typical Portuguese-Canadian high school student Project Diploma (TDSB Survey_Introduction) Source: 1991 Canada Census
