  1. April 29, 2014 • Homework: Complete Motion Review sheet- Due Thursday- Review your notes on chapter one- • **Open book Quick-quiz on Friday** • Do Now: • Write down homework • Open notebook and textbook to pg. 25

  2. Math Practice Problems on pg. 25 in the textbook.

  3. Kinetic Energy(KE) - the Energy due to Motion What are two factors that affect kinetic energy? -Mass- KE increases when the mass increases -Velocity- KE increases when velocity increases

  4. Elastic Potential Energy • Stored energy related to an object’s position or shape • Energy stored and used later What is an example of potential energy?

  5. Gravitational potential Energy: • Related to an objects height- equal to the work done to lift it- Weight x Height Interpreting Diagrams: Does the red skier have more gravitational potential energy on the higher ski-jump or the lower one?- Why?

  6. Type main kinds of Energy: --Kinetic Energy - Potential Energy Energy is conserved— Can not be created or destroyed, only transferred from one type to another

  7. Energy is Conserved-- Transferred Energy transfers from Potential to kinetic energy once the object is in motion

  8. Where are the areas of greatest -Potential Energy? -Kinetic energy? -Why?

  9. April 30, 2014 Homework: Review Sheet Due tomorrow: Quick Quiz on Friday- Review Notes on chapter one and on Energy Do Now: Write down Home-work-

  10. Which letter shows where gravitational potential energy the greatest? And where Kinetic Energy is the greatest?

  11. What Ride from 6 Flags moves similar to this type of motion?

  12. Where are the areas of greatest -Potential Energy? -Kinetic energy? -Why?
