  6. 3rd Grade Character Traits • The Energy Bus • We will be reading ‘The Energy Bus’ next week and discussing how we should all ‘hop on.’ • Each month, different character trait • When another child sees another students displaying this character trait, they will write it down and share with the other student. Then, it will be placed on the bus for others to see.

  7. Positive Pals • We partner with Kindergarten, Mrs. Waldron’s class • Day 6 they will meet together for lunch • Each student is assigned a pal • Positive Pal meeting will be every day 6 at the end of the day. This time will be used for the pals to talk and discuss questions with the younger students.

  8. Math • This year we will be using Envision math. This program is accessible to students at all levels and provides a lot of hands on learning. • Homework will be in the form of leveled papers from the Envision program or worksheets that reflect what we have completed in class.

  9. Reading • We will be using the Daily 5 during our reading time. This allows students to read on their own, with a buddy, have time to practice their writing, work on words and also have teacher time. • This way, the children will be able to work in small groups and independently, and I will be able to help each child.

For example, if your clip moves down to ‘Make a Change,’ but you change your behavior and beginning make great choices, you could move back to ‘Ready to Learn’ • At the end of the day, Showing Pride gets you a ticket, Role Model gets you a Paw and Outstanding gets you a pick out of the prize or candy bins PLUS a ticket.
