  1. Are you fed up of your glasses or contact lenses? Now WE have a permanent solution for U! Dr.Madhuri Dixit M.S.(Ophthal) Director & Consultant Eye Surgeon KLES BELGAUM LASIK LASER CENTRE

  2. WHAT IS LASIK? LASER ASSISTED IN SITU STROMAL KERATOMILIEOSIS

  3. BEST OF OLD AND NEW OLD ALK AUTOMATED LAMMELER KERATECTOMY NEW PRK PHOTOREFRACIVE KERATECTOMY

  4. ALK stands for “Automated Lamellar Keratomileusis”. This procedure has been performed for over 40 years. This is very similar to LASIK. A corneal flap was created with the same type of device. Tissue was then removed by another pass of the same device, removing a pre-calculated thickness button of tissue and then the flap was replaced. The problem with this procedure was in the accuracy and predictability.

  5. LASER procedures much more accurate PRK or Photo Refractive Keratectomy has been performed for 10 years. This procedure involved using an excimer laser through all the layers of the cornea Although it was very accurate it did not heal rapidly because the top layer of epithelium required up to 3 days to heal. Stability has been shown with this procedure for 10 years with no loss of effect

  6. THREE IMPORTANT STEPS • CREATION OF CORNEAL FLAP • EXCIMER LASER ABLATION • REPOSITIONING OF CORNEAL FLAP

  7. MICROKERATOME

  8. ALLEGRETTO WAVE • SAFEST • FASTEST • PRECISE

  9. About ALLEGRETO.wave. GERMAN make Wavelight FDA approved. ISO certified. Wave front optimised Fast, safe and precise. Can correct Up to 14 D

  10. (WFO) Wavefront Optimised Treatment It is achieved by giving more energy per pulse at the periphery of the treatment as compared to that given in the central zone. Thus it produces equal ablation of both central and peripheral cornea Divyadrishti Lasers, Satara.

  11. With standard LASIK With WFO LASIK

  12. Importance of very small Flying Spot Laser • Smaller the spot (<1mm), more precise is the Laser delivery leading to more precise change in laser ablation of cornea

  13. Optical zone 6.5 mm ABLATION Small ablation spot (Cross section of an ablation) 0.45 µm depth Comparison large / small spots 0.95 mm diameter 1 mm Spots Cornea (top view) 2 mm Spots 11 mm Diameter

  14. Active Eye Tracker • A very fast repetition rate of Active Eye Tracker system minimizes and eliminates the millisecond lag between tracking laser beam and the movement of the eyeball It leads to precisely centered laser treatment

  15. ABLATION Myopic 3D ablation profile

  16. ABLATION Hyperopic 3D ablation profile

  17. Comparative Study of LASIK technologies

  18. What exactly is LASIK??

  19. POST PROCEDURE CARE • EYE PROTECTION • EYE DROPS • REGULAR FOLLOW UP

  20. Study of 200 eyes of WFO LASIK Laser Treatment • Operated by Two Surgeons. • Laser delivery system was same • Cases were followed for minimum period of 6 months

  21. Male : Female 39 62 • Age distribution:

  22. WFO Treatment • myopia 22 • myopic astigmatism 162 • hypermetropia 10

  23. KLES BELGAUM LASIK LASER CENTRE WORLD WITHOUT GLASSES THANK U !
