The workers and professionals of the world will soon be divided into two distinct groups; those who will control computers and those who will be controlled by computers. It would be best for you to be in the former group. ~Lewis D. Eigen~ Welcome to Mrs. Awde's Classroom

Access to restroom during class will happen only in an absolute emergency. Tardy • If you have this class first period, and you arrive to my room after the 7:30 a.m. bell, go directly to the dean. You will not be allowed in without a late pass. • After first period, if you are late: come here directly with a pass that excuses your tardiness. If you don’t have a pass, you will deal with consequences with me for the first three times, and after that, it goes to the dean. Welcome to Mrs. Awde's Classroom

  17. Major Rules • If you are ever absent from class, you must ask me what work you missed, and then make the time to do that work. • “I was absent” is not an acceptable excuse for not learning the subject matter. • If you have access to the Parent Portal (info to follow) that makes this process very easy. • If you don’t have access to the Parent Portal, you must ask me. Welcome to Mrs. Awde's Classroom

  18. Major Rules • If your grade slips below a 70%, I will give you written notification, and you must come during advisory or after school to make up work and/or benchmarks • Failure is not an option! • Try to get access to the parent portal • Discuss this with your parents • You are the best person to stay on top of your own school progress • Historically, all of my best students have done this • See this link to Newport Public Schools Welcome to Mrs. Awde's Classroom
