TMCL Container Line– the background TMCL Container Line was founded in 2005 as a non-asset based Shipping Line headquartered in Hamburg with a regional office in Hong Kong offering global FCL services Its strategic beginning emerged out of the uncertain future for many small but successful liner agency companies with strong brand positions in their local markets TMCL has bundled together this wealth of market knowledge and strong local brand presence into a network of ’like minded’ companies covering 115 countries in the world with more than 160 offices All TMCL Agents are using one common ORACLE, web-based IT platform called TMCL Information Platform (TIP) TMCL Bill of Lading is fully insured and negotiable TMCL’s customer focus is on small and medium sized freight forwarding companies (NVOs) and Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs), i.e. direct shippers

TMCL’s advantages over other Shipping Lines TMCL offers rates and services from almost any origin to any destination in the world, whereas shipping lines are limited to specific trade lanes (not even world no. 1 Maersk is able to cover the world) TMCL has the ability to source and eventually offer any kind of equipment, but a shipping line is limited to equipment availability at port of loading TMCL’s network is global, but a shipping line is limited to specific trade lanes TMCL’s market knowledge is both local and global, where the market knowledge of a shipping line is local and limited to the specific services the shipping line is offering TMCL’s ability to use many shipping lines means that its potential capacity exceeds the capacity of any one single container line.
