3. Simple การใช้กริยาในประโยคต้องคำนึงถึง • Tense • Voice • Mood Structure forms She walks. She is going to walk. They are going to walk. They walk. She isn’t going to walk. She doesn’t walk. They aren’t going to walk. They don’t walk. Is she going to walk? Does she walk? Are they going to walk? Do they walk?

Functions • Past Simple • เหตุการณ์ / การกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีตและจบลงในอดีตเช่นกัน • It is classmates skipped in the playground last Thursday. • We went swimming every evening during the summer. • ลำดับเหตุการณ์ในอดีตที่ต่อเนื่องกัน • Golf turned on the radio, sat down and listened to the 8 o’clock news last night.

5. Present Simple • เหตุการณ์ที่เป็นจริง ตามธรรมชาติ และตามหลักวิทยาศาสตร์ • The sun shines by day; the moon shines by night. • Pure pineapples juice is a source of vitamin C. • การกระทำที่เป็นนิสัย / กิจวัตรประจำวัน • Sommai plays golf every weekend. • How often do you go to Chiengmai? I go there twice a year. • การกระทำ / เหตุการณ์ที่เป็นจริงในปัจจุบัน • What does your father do? • In Europe people wear thick clothes in winter. • เหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตตามโปรแกรมหรือตารางเวลา • The plane from Tokyo arrives at 5:40 p.m.

6. Future Simple เหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต • Pramote will do his homework tomorrow night. • Manee thinks it will rain soon. Note! • ปัจจุบัน เราใช้ will กับประธานได้ทุกตัว I will go to the National theatre next Monday. • “Shall I …?” ใช้เสนอให้ความช่วยเหลือแก่ผู้อื่น shall I make a coffee for you? • “Shall we …?” ใช้เสนอแนะหรือชักชวนผู้อื่นให้ทำกิจกรรมกับคนพูด shall we have a party on March 25th, 2007? • Will you (please) …? ในการขอร้องให้ผู้ฟังทำ will you please shut the windows?

7. ในโครงสร้างที่มีคำสันธานต่อไปนี้ในโครงสร้างที่มีคำสันธานต่อไปนี้ We will go fishing as soon as we have finished our homework. If it rains this evening, we won’t go out. Will the Wilsons stay in a bungalow before the leave for Samui Island?

8. พร้อมใช้ be going to ในภาษาพูดแทนการใช้ will หรือ shall เมื่อกล่าวถึง Plan Mr. Saksit is going to hold a meeting next Friday. Intention What are you going to do this evening? I’m going to play the saxophone. Determination What exactly are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be a dentist. Certain Event “Look at those dark clouds. I think it’s going to rain soon.”

Functions • Past Continuous • เหตุการณ์ในอดีตที่มีคำบอกเวลาชี้ชัดเจนแน่นอน At ten o’clock last night we were watching TV. “You were sleeping whenever Kaew called you up last week.” • เหตุการณ์ 2 เหตุการณ์ ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นเป็นเวลานาน ในเวลาเดียวกันในอดีต Areeya was cooking in the kitchen as it was raining cats and dogs. just as while Note!เหตุการณ์หนึ่งเกิดขึ้นแทรกเข้ามาในขณะที่อีกเหตุการณ์หนึ่งกำลังดำเนินอยู่ มักจะมีคำ as, just as, while, when เชื่อมเหตุการณ์เข้าด้วยกัน As Just as + past continuous, past simple While • Just as Joe was skiing, he fell down. • Joe fell down just as he was skiing. when + past simple, past continuous • When the telephone rang, The Hudsons were having dinner. • The Hudsons were having dinner when the telephone rang.

11. Present Continuous • เหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นขณะที่พูด มักมีคำบอกเวลาลำดับประโยค Now we are watching TV. = we are watching TV now. We are still watching TV. “Micky, are you still taking photographs at the moment?” • เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในช่วงปัจจุบัน แม้ว่าไม่ได้กำลังดำเนินอยู่ในขณะที่พูด This semester our friends are studying hard. • เหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้ที่มีการเตรียมการล่วงหน้าไว้แล้ว ต้องมีกริยาแสดงการเคลื่อนไหวและ Time – words กำกับ Tomorrow evening we both are shopping at the Big C. Fa and Fon are leaving for Australia this evening. Note! กริยาที่แสดงถึง feeling, state of mind (ภาวะจิตใจ), perception(การรับรู้), และ relationship(สัมพันธภาพ) จะไม่มีรูป Continuous ให้ใช้Simple แทน • ประโยคที่มี Look!, Listen!ใช้ Present Continuous

Future Continuous • เหตุการณ์นั้นจะกำลังดำเนินการอยู่ในอนาคต โดยมีคำบอกเวลาที่ระบุเวลาชัดเจนในอนาคตกำกับประโยค The Srisooks will be having dinner at the Kroi Ek Restaurant at this time tomorrow. • เหตุการณ์ที่ได้วางแผนไว้หรือตัดสินใจแน่นอนว่าจะกำลังทำเช่นนั้นในอนาคต “Don’t disturb me, please. I’ll be studying for the maths exam till 10 o’clock tonight." Note! - Will you be + V ing ….? ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับแผนการของบุคคล ในกรณีที่เราต้องการหรือจะขอร้องให้ผู้อื่นกระทำบางสิ่งบางอย่างให้ “Will you be using your camera this evening?” “Will you be passing that supermarket, Phong?” • นอกจาก time – words แล้ว ยังใช้ when + ประธาน + present Simple แทนได้ Our parents will be having dinner when we reach there. I hope it won’t be raining hard when our children leave the Dream World.

14. functions • Past perfect • เหตุการณ์ 2 เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นต่อกัน เหตุการณ์เกิดก่อนใช้ past perfect เหตุการณ์เกิดหลังใช้ past simple She had already seen that film so she didn’t go to the cinema. Chaiyo wanted to visit Switzerland because he had never been there before. I returned to Thailand after I had received my degree. Note!– ใช้ในประโยคโครงสร้าง: by the time + past simple, past perfect By the time I got home, everybody had had dinner. no sooner ประธาน+ had hardly + V3then/when + ประธาน + V2 scarcely We had no sooner gone out than it started to rain. My father had hardly mended my television when the lights went out.

15. Present Perfect • เหตุการณ์ที่เพิ่งจะเสร็จสิ้นลง Pathama hasn’t finished her housework yet. We have just washed our clothes. • แสดงเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน We have lived in Chachoengsao for ten years so far. Up to now, we have worked at St. Louis School. • เหตุการณ์ณ์นั้นเกิดขึ้นในอดีตและสิ้นสุดแล้วในอดีต แต่ยังมีผลถึงปัจจุบัน “Someone has switched on the light. Switch them off, please.” • เหตุการณ์จบแล้ว แต่ผู้พูดยังรู้สึกนึกคิด ถึงเหตุการณ์นั้น Poo, have you seen that movie before? Bird, one of my favorite singers, has sung so beautifully. • Future Perfect Tense • ใช้แสดงว่าถึงเวลานั้นๆในอนาคต เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขั้นจะเสร็จสิ้นลงโดยมีคำบอกเวลาอยู่ในประโยคด้วย I shan’t have finished my report before Hwarn calls me. The plane from Brazil will have landed in half an hour.

Functions • Past Perfect Continuous • เล่าเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นก่อนและยังคงดำเนินต่อไปยังไม่สิ้นสุด ในขณะที่อีกเหตุการณ์หนึ่งแทรกขึ้นมา แต่ทั้ง 2 เหตุการณ์ต่างจบลงในอดีต Kittisak had been riding his bike for half an hour when Nam visited him. By the time the coach arrived, Busaba had been waiting for us for 2 hours. Note!คำกริยาที่ใช้รูป past conyinuous มักจะเป็นคำกริยาที่แสดงอาการ / การกระทำ เป็นเวลายาวนาน

Present Perfect Continuous • เหตุการณ์หรือการกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นตั้งแต่ในอดีต ดำเนินต่อเนื่องมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน และปัจจุบัน เหตุการณ์หรือการกระทำนั้นก็ยังคงดำเนินอยู่ และคาดว่าจะกระทำต่อเนื่องถึงอนาคต Parawee has been typing letters all the morning. Has your father been working hard untill now? We haven’t been watching TV for 5 hours now. • เหตุการณ์ที่สิ้นสุดแล้วแต่ยังทิ้งร่องรอยให้เห็นชัดเจน “Pang’s eyes are red. I think she has been crying, hasn’t she?” “You look so tried. You have been working hard, haven’t you?”

19. Future Perfect Continuous • เหตุการณ์จะสิ้นสุดลงเมื่อถึงเวลาที่กำหนดไว้ แต่จะดำเนินต่อเนื่องกันไปอีกช่วงระยะเวลาหนึ่งในอนาคต Miss Orasa will have been working in Bangkok for 15 years by the end of next month.

20. การใช้Tense คู่ while • past simple + as + past continuous (เหตุการณ์เข้ามาแทรก)just as (เหตุการณ์กำลังเกิดอยู่) While he was taking a bath, the phone rang. • past continuous + when + past simple (เหตุการณ์กำลังเกิดอยู่)(เหตุการณ์เข้ามาแทรก) When Sue got up, the sun was shining. • past perfect + before + past simple (เหตุการณ์เกิดก่อน, จบก่อน) (เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นทีหลัง) somsak had done his homework before he went to bed. • past simple + after + past perfect (เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นทีหลัง)(เหตุการณ์เกิดก่อน, จบก่อน) After Somsak had done his work, he went to bed.

21. when as soon as • Future simple + until + present simple before at the moment that I will wait for her until she comes. • Future simple + after + present perfect After I have washed my clothes, I will go with you. • Future simple + if + present simple present simple John will pass his exam if he studies harder. If you boil water, it turns to steam. • Past simple + if + would + V1 He would meet her if he went to the park. • Past perfect + if + would have + V3 He would have passe his examination if he had studied harder.

22. Tense กับ คำ / กลุ่มคำ ต่างๆ • wish + past simple – เหตุการณ์ปัจจุบันที่ไม่เป็นจริง I wish I were good at English. • wish + past perfect – เหตุการณ์ในอดีต she wishes her brother had passed his final exam last year. • as if + past simple = present time as though + past perfect = past time She talks as if she knew everything. He spent a lot of money as though he had been a millionaire. • It’s time …. If only … + past Simple I’d rather … It’s high time we went home. If only you came everything is all right. I’d rather he came here everyday.
