  3. What is the background? • The first Table Tennis sub-committee was formed in the 1970’s • 1982 1st World Championships for All disabilities • 2007 becomes part of the ITTF

  4. Para Table Tennis (PTT)

Para Table Tennis • IPTTC was a standing committee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), in a transition period to move under the umbrella of ITTF, this period finished in 2009. • The new name is Para Table Tennis Division (PTT) and it is part of ITTF • 2400 Active players worldwide at international level • Every year around 20 international tournaments are organized worldwide under the sanction of the PTT.

  10. ¿ Qué es el “Sistema de Clasificación“ ? The use of the words “Classification system” indicates that there is a difference among athletes with a disability which is not acceptable or fair in a competition background.

  11. How is the „Classification System“? The players are seperated in 11 classes • It should be noted that there is a range of severity differences between these classes • It means that most disabled players with severe impairments reside in lower classes and those minimally disabled with mild impairments are in higher ones. WHEELCHAIR PLAYERS INTELECTUALLY DISABLED PLAYERS Class 1 to 5 Class 11 STANDING PLAYERS Class 6 to 10
