2. Step 1 • Fold the paper in half, hamburger style. • Open the paper and fold along the same crease in the opposite direction.

3. Step 2 • Fold each half in half by folding the edge to the center crease. • Open paper and fold creases in the opposite direction.

4. Step 3 • Fold paper in thirds the long way, hot-dog style.

5. Step 4 • Open paper and hold sideways in front of you. • Number top row 1,1,2,3. • Number middle row 3,2,1,1. • Number bottom row 1,1,2,3

6. Step 5 • Turn paper over, side to side, like you are turning the page of a book. • Number top row 4,4,3,2 • Number middle row 2,3,4,4. • Number bottom row 4,4,3,2.

7. Step 6 • Shade in three sides of the center rectangle, which contains the number 3,4. Shade in the top, left and bottom sides of the rectangle. • Cut shaded line.

8. Step 7 • Lift flap and fold over to the right and tuck around the flexagon.

9. Step 8 • Fold left side over once and then twice. • You should have all 2’s in front of you.

10. Step 9 • Flip over the flexagon and you should have all 1’s in front of you. • Tape the center two 1’s together.
