  1. Off to Loompa Land... Ennis Travel is Your Ticket to the World

  2. Our journey begins... We are off to the unexplored… Oompa Loompa land is deep in the Amazon River Valley

  3. What to pack? We are going to be in the JUNGLE! Dress for heat! The locals where very little made out of local foliage. Mud helps to keep the giant mosquitoes off. We’ll make sure you get a hat when we get there. Expect huge down pours, but it only lasts for a little while and then it is back to hot and steamy. It doesn’t matter when we go, the weather is going to be the same.

  4. Room with a view The Oompa Loompas live in the trees. It’s safe because we are away from all of the wild animals in the jungle. Their homes are pods that are made from local plants and keep us dry. We will be staying in a larger pod designed for human guests.

  5. Relax in the trees The whole village is a landmark! It is an architectural marvel! The village is all on the trees! The series of pods are connected by vines and bridges. You can admire the landscape from the tree tops. The Amazon Basin is full of wildlife. Birds, monkeys, panthers, fish of all varieties - it is all here and right outside of your pod!

  6. The People Men and women are treated the same. They both do all of jobs - scavenge, build, care for each other. A ceremony will be performed in the priest’s hut to welcome you to the village. You will sit on the floor and share a meal of mashed caterpillars. He will bless you as a member of his people. His position is hereditary and he will pray to his ancestors during this ceremony.

  7. Chocolate! Oompa Loompas think all of the life around them is divine. Because of this, they only eat local plants and insects. The cocoa bean is the most prized thing. Oompa Loompas go crazy for chocolate! Bring some with you!

  8. Make your stay pleasant Their language consists of a variety of sounds combined with gestures. It is not as complex as ours and you will catch on quickly. When you meet the leader, cross your arms and bow . When you are offered food, wait till he starts and then you can begin eating. You will be eating with your hands as they do not have utensils. Everything will be served in rough pottery bowls. Bathing will pretty much be standing in the rain - it rains daily. You won’t be wearing much, so it shouldn’t be an issue. The Oompa Loompas LOVE to sing. They will come up with a song on the spot about anything going on at the time. Dancing in unison will accompany all songs. It is pretty amazing to see! https://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/willywonkaandthechocolatefactory/oompaloompa.htm

  9. What to take home? There is not a whole lot to buy. The Oompa Loompas live a very simple life. They do not care for material things and want for nothing more than chocolate! Bring chocolate with you and they will honor you forever! They don’t raise animals and they don’t crops because they live above the ground. They harvest the fruit from the trees around them and can provide for themselves from the forest canopy.

  10. Willy Wonka The great chocolatier, Willy Wonka stumbled across the Oompa Loompa village on one of his research expeditions. The Oompa Loompas wanted the chocolate but had nothing to offer in trade. Wonka came up with the great idea of moving them to his factory. He provided a place for them to live and all the chocolate they could eat in exchange for labor. They have unique skills that made them better candy makers than people from other parts of the world. They continue to be loyal to Wonka and his chocolate factory, singing, and dancing while the mix up sweet treats. They’ve traded in their banana leaf skirts for spiffy red shiny suits and hair product.
