Potentially Strong Storm to affect Southern New England Early Next Week NHC Track at 5am Friday Monday Morning Tuesday Morning Wednesday Morning • Synopsis: • Although there is still a lot of uncertainty, there is an increasing confidence that a strong storm will effect Southern New England early next week. This storm will be associated with what is now Hurricane Sandy as well as other weather systems. The current positioning of the storm may/most likely will change between now and next week. No matter where this storm tracks this will be a dangerous and • potentially life threatening storm for mariners. • Potential Impacts: • Seas > 25 feet • Coastal Flooding • Recommendations: • Mariners are urged to return to port by Saturday. • Have a well stocked family disaster kit in case you lose power for • an extended period of time • Clear gutters and storm drains of leaves and other debris. • Secure or bring inside any outdoor furniture, toys, decorations, etc. Beach Erosion Damaging Winds Heavy Rainfall Freshwater Flooding Preparedness Tips: www.ready.gov Latest information: www.weather.gov/boston Follow us on Twitter! @NWSBoston
