THE BURDEN SHARING (National law-02/04/2012) • The European target share of 20% of energy produced from RES by 2020, is divided into binding national targets for Member States • Italy’s aim for 2020 is that the share of RES, or the ratio of gross final consumption of renewable energy (electricity, heat, transport) and Total gross final consumption> 17% • The Burden sharing decree defines and quantifies the intermediate and final goals that each Italian Region must achieve to attain the national goals for 2020 • Trajectory of the objectives for the Lazio Region, from the initial situation to 2020: Starting Point 4% 2012 6,5% 2014 7,4% 2016 8,5% 2018 9,9% 2020 11,9%

REGIONAL FUNDS MAIN ACTIVITIES 2009/until today • Joint Project onBiomass among Lazio region, the Municipality of Rome, University of Tor Vergata and AMA S.p.a. • funding of activities carried out by Sviluppo Lazio SPA (regional Development Agency of Lazio, also in charge with the sustainable energy development): Sustainable Development, Intelligent Energy – Kyoto Info centre • Project: Diagnosis and efficiency improvement of the municipal real estate of Orte (VT)

REGIONAL FUNDS MAIN ACTIVITIES 2009/until today • CNR – Institute on the air pollution: Development of strategies for biomass plants in Rieti area and monitoring of their impacts on the quality of the air” • “Soap on Tap” project • “Reduce Packaging” project in 40 Municipalities of Lazio • Installation of 22 light fountains

  7. REGIONAL FUNDS SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FROM THE ROOFS PROGRAM Agreement: Lazio Region and ATER Requalification of the roofing of the residential public buildings’ through the installation of PV panels

EU FUNDS – POR FESR LAZIO 2007-2013Sviluppo Lazio Spa Public calls: Improving the efficiency of the public lighting and traffic lights network (12,5 M€) Contributions to the business investments in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy (14 M€) Solar systems in structures and building components (16,25 M€) Financial engineering fund (subsidies) for SMEs (€ 50M public resources ROP ERDF) – Sviluppo Lazio Spa

REGIONAL FUNDS THE RESEARCH CENTERS FINANCED BY LAZIO REGION LR has funded dedicated research activities to the Universities to create 3 research centers: Hydrogen Center Organic solar Center Sustanaible mobilty Center • Research activities and technological transfer from the Research Center on PV organic cells towards industries, financed by LR and sited in Lazio at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”; • Technological transfer from the Sustainable Mobility Center financed by Lazio Region and sited in the University of La Sapienza of Rome.
