  3. GICS is one of 9 Integrated Cancer Services established in Victoria: (DHS initiative) • The ICS's were established to drive and develop cancer reform with and through key stakeholders

  4. Web site initiative GRAMPIANS INTEGRATED CANCER SERVICES (GICS) CANCER SERVICE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CSIP) PRIORITY PROJECT APPLICATION FOR Project Title: Development of GICS Website

  5. Web site initiative • The Grampians Integrated Cancer Services (GICS) is the organization centered on the Grampians charged under the state wide cancer plan with improving the interaction of cancer services in the Grampians region. • The major focus is to coordinate the services of existing cancer service providers as well as the identification of gaps in cancer services. • The GICS has over its initial two years of operation developed a clear understanding of service provision and needs to circulate this widely throughout the cancer services providers in the region.

  6. Website initiative • A website would be the best resource for achieving this as well as receiving regular feedback from providers. • Additional functions for the website would include a virtual multi-disciplinary clinic which would not be part of this proposal but the website developed would have to have the functionality and capacity for such applications.

  7. 2. Grampians Cancer Support Service Directory (GCSSD) The GCSSD is a cancer service improvement Initiative pilot program with the following objectives: • A desk top A- Z reference guide to assist in identifying and referring patients and families to relevant service providers. • To be utilized as a reference link for discharge planning for patients. • To increase the awareness for service providers of the available resources, locally and in metropolitan centre’s.
