  2. OBJECTIVE • TO UNDERSTAND HOW IMMUNOLOGIC TESTS HELP IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES, IMMUNE-RELATED DISEASES, SUCH AS AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES, AND CERTAIN CANCERS, SUCH AS MULTIPLE MYELOMA.

  3. INFORMATION FOR THIS SESSION • THERE ARE FIVE DUPLICATE SETS, THREE IN S458 AND TWO IN S468. YOU CAN GO TO ANY ONE AND IN ANY ORDER. • EACH SET HAS FIVE STATIONS CONSISTING OF • AN INFORMATION SHEET • A CASE WITH QUESTIONS • THE ACTUAL IMMUNOLOGIC TEST WHICH YOU WILL INTERPRET IN ORDER TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS • PLEASE PICK UP AN ANSWER SHEET, PRINT YOUR NAME ON IT AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. PUT IT IN THE BASKET WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED. • YOU CAN WORK TOGETHER, CONSULT ANY BOOK OR OTHER SOURCE, OR ASK THE FACULTY TO EXPLAIN ANYTHING THAT IS UNCLEAR. • WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED WITH THE FIVE CASES, YOU CAN DO THE “IMMUNOLOGY PUZZLE” WHICH IS FUN AND INSTRUCTIVE.
